David Crockett State Park is only 14 miles from Country Livin RV Park on Sugarland Ranch.
Beautiful Shoal Creek runs through this park, and it was the sight of one of David Crockett’s ventures. An old grist mill with a museum inside. There are a few rehabilitated wild bird cages too. The creeks with its cascades and some waterfalls are a great way to cool off so bring a change of clothes.
If you like nature and history this is a great place to go. The museum inside the grist mill. It has a bit of history David Crockett history before and after his time in Tennessee, however it concentrates on his activities within the area.
You may notice that this is called “David Crockett” State Park rather than Davy Crockett. This is out of respect, because although he was called Davy by some, he preferred to be called “David”. I can relate.
