Stillhouse Hollow Falls trail leads to 75ft waterfall and is only 13 miles away From Country Livin RV park. So, if you like a short hike through natural beauty, punctuated by a beautiful waterfall, Stillhouse Hollow Falls trail is a must see.
This Tennessee State Natural Area has a well-kept 3/4-mile trail leading through a hollow to a creek, leading to a series of small cascades, an overlook of the falls, and finally to its base. At the base of the falls there a small swimming hole. So, if it is warm, it will be hard to resist.
For the sure-footed, you can climb behind the waterfall, which is a delightfully unusual experience & fantastic view
The Stillhouse Hollow Falls trail leads through native flowery shrubs such as hydrangea, rhododendron, edible deerberry, and downy mock-orange as you descend under a canopy of large oaks and hickories. So, the smells are delicious. The lower slopes, nearer the creek, lead you through a variety of shrubs including spicebush, edible pawpaw, and alder, which grow under a canopy of large sugar maples, sycamores, white oaks, beeches, and tulip poplars.
The creek is crossable and inviting to those who don’t mind getting their feet wet. If that is not for you there are wooden bridges at each crossing.
There is a parking lot at the beginning of Stillhouse Hollow Falls trail, but it is not large. So, weekdays are a good time to visit.
Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
There is no hunting, fishing or camping allowed.
